Climate in CreteSummer is the most popular time to visit Crete. Kernos Beach Hotel & Bungalows opens from April until the end of October. The average temperature in Summer is between 27°C and 30°C and the island receives between 9 to 12 hours of sunshine daily. The chances of experiencing rain are very slim with the average rainfall at about 0mm in June, July and August and 10mm in September.
There are big differences between the day and evenings temperatures, providing the island with much welcome relief for those struggling with the heat during the day.
TransportationThe resort is within easy reach of the town of Malia, Stalis, a waterpark, an aquarium and other attractions. Knossos, the capital of Minoan Crete, home to the legendary King Midas and the Minotaur are 30 minutes away. The nearby Agios Nikolaos Port offers connections to nearby islands allowing you to travel and explore the treasures of the Aegean.

At the side of the gorge of Selinari, is the small old chapel and the newly founded monastery of Agios Georgios Selinaris. The small chapel was probably founded early in the 16th century AD, and ever since it is a place of worshipping. The people passing through the chapel stop to light a candle to the saint.
The chapel is considered miraculous, there are various legends concerning miracles related either with healing of sick people or with divine punishment of people that did not pay the respect due to the saint.
